Citrix gets personal with Workspace updates

In order to improve employee productivity, Citrix has added an intelligent feed and personalized workflows to its Workspace digital platform. Citrix said the new features in Workspace helped eliminate "digital noise" by bringing to the surface the primary business processes and applications that users need. Workspace, which is integrated with applications from SAP, Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, Atlassian, and Workday, lets users access their apps, desktops and data from anywhere.  In addition to the new features, Workspace, which is generally available comes with more than 100 pre-configured micro apps. Last year, Citrix bought workforce micro apps vendor Sophos to beef up applications in Workspace. With Workspace, companies can optimize the workload for every employee by organizing and automating their tasks in order to allow them to focus on the most important areas of their jobs. Workspace pulls out the most pertinent tasks and insights from systems of record and then delivers them in intelligent feeds to individual users on any device or channel. Companies can create single-purpose steps to simplify the execution of mundane tasks such as filing expenses, requesting time off and submitting purchase orders, among other things. According to Citrix, a typical employee may use more than a dozen apps to get work done over the course of the day, often using four or more apps for one single task. Workers spend at least 20% of their time searching for the information they need to do their jobs while also being distracted by endless texts, chats and alerts.  In order to improve productivity in the workplace, IDC predicts that 60% of Global 2000 companies will have adopted a future-workspace to improve employee experience and productivity, with 10 % opting for workspace as-a-service. "At the end of the day, employees want to master their craft,” said Citrix's Tim Minahan, executive vice president of strategy and chief marketing officer, in a statement. “With Citrix Workspace, employers can empower them to do so by freeing them from soul sucking tasks so that they can focus on building their skills and engaging work.”
